Community members are invited to nominate a District 202 staff member or community member for the 2026 CAPE Community Award.
The CAPE Community Award recognizes an individual for outstanding commitment to District 202 schools and dedicated service to the broader community. Established in 1983, the award honors someone whose impact extends across the entire district.
“We are fortunate to have so many individuals who go above and beyond for our schools,” said CAPE president Blair Kramer. “The CAPE Community Award gives us the opportunity to recognize someone whose dedication truly strengthens our entire district community.”
Nominations must be submitted by March 16, 2026.
Past winners are not eligible for nomination; a list of previous recipients is included on the online nomination form.

The CAPE Community Award is distinct from the individual CAPE Awards presented annually to one volunteer, one staff member, and one teacher from each school. The Community Award honors a person whose service benefits the District.
The 2026 recipient will be recognized at the 50th Annual CAPE Award Reception and Ceremony on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Plainfield East High School, 12001 S. Naperville Road, Plainfield.
CAPE, the Coordination of Administration and Parent groups for Educational Efficiency, brings together parents and district administrators representing all school and district-level parent organizations. Since its inception, CAPE has recognized parents, community members, teachers, and staff for their dedication to students, schools, and the community.
