The Board of Education recognized the Red Cheetah and Blue Cheetah basketball teams for winning state championships at the Special Olympics Illinois games earlier this month. The teams were recognized Wednesday. #202proud



Congratulations to eighth-grader Dhruv Ram (second from left) on winning second place in the Will County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Lincoln-Way West High School.
Indian Trail Middle School sixth-grader Edward Goding took third place.
Ira Jones Middle School seventh-grader Alanur Mescioglu (left) won the spelling bee and will represent Will County in the Scripps National Spelling Bee the week of May 25 in Washington, D.C.
Will County Regional Office of Education Superintendent Dr. Lisa Caparelli-Ruff (right) congratulated the winners.


Seven District 202 Instructional Technology Coaches presented at the IDEAcon 2025 in February.
IDEAcon, hosted by the Illinois Digital Educators Alliance (IDEA), is a renowned conference that brings together educators, administrators, and technology specialists to explore the latest advancements in instructional technology.

Henry Moline, an Aux Sable Middle School seventh grader, also presented to give a student perspective to educators across the Midwest.
The Plainfield SD 202 ITC team shared strategies, tools, and real-world applications that empower teachers to create engaging and inclusive digital learning environments. Their sessions highlighted how technology can support SEL by fostering student engagement, collaboration, and emotional well-being through intentional instructional design.
“Technology is more than just a tool—it’s a bridge to deeper learning and meaningful connections,” said Laura Shervino, district Director of Digital Learning and Innovation.
“We were excited to showcase how digital learning strategies can enhance academic and emotional growth, ensuring that staff and students feel supported, heard, and prepared for the future. Additionally, this is an opportunity to showcase the dedication, passion, and hard work that our ITCs contribute to our staff, school, and community."
In total, 22 Instructional Technology Coaches attended the three-day event in Schaumburg.

Attached is a flyer for Special Olympics Pack the House at PSHS on Thursday, February 20th. Two of our very own FBI students are on the Blue Cheetahs and will be participating in the scrimmage basketball game at 5:30! They've been working so hard and absolutely love to have fans! It would mean the world to them to see some their Aux Sable family if you're able to attend. 😊
