QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.”

By Mark Twain

CLUBS:

Keep your toes and your heart extra warm this winter by purchasing socks from the NHS Sock Tree.  All money from the sales will be donated to Lurie Children’s Hospital.  Socks are $3 a pair, or two pairs for $5.  Socks will be for sale in the cafeteria during lunch periods.  Hurry and snag your favorite pair before they are gone!

KUDOS:

Congratulations to the Chess Team for defeating Joliet West 68-0 last night.  Sweeping all eight boards were: Dritan Imeri, Matt Badali, Matt Matthayasack, Steven Carter, Aaron Kovacevic, Jakub Mardula, Jason Caban, and Rey Lopez.  Check mate!

IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T HEARD:

Attention all sophomores and juniors!  Are you interested in making a difference in your school and community?  PSLC applications for the 2018-2019 school year are now available in student services.  Grab yours today!

Feeling extra festive? Looking to top off your holiday spirit? Then come to the Media Center during your study hall period and make sock penguins with Andrea Sowers, the Joliet Public Library Teen Librarian. Sock penguins are like sock snowpeople only much more … penguiny. Confused? Come see for yourself what it’s all about!

Important information about arriving late or dismissal during finals:

Students are allowed to come late or leave early if they have a lunch/study hall period during the first or last test time of the day. For example, if a student has lunch/study 4th period, they may arrive at 8:10 to take their 5th period final.  In addition, if a student has lunch/study 6th period, they may leave after the 5th period final exam.  No parent phone call is required in both circumstances. Students may come at the regular start time or stay until the scheduled dismissal time and can report to the cafeteria.

If a student has lunch/study 5th period, they will report to the cafeteria. Students will not be allowed to leave the building and no parent phone calls will be accepted for a 5th hour only dismissal.
